Amidst rumors that the new Nas album is in jeopardy and a premature negative review from Maxim, a rep for the Queens rapper sheds light on the controversy. "Nas is currently putting the final touches on the highly anticipated new album," said his rep, Tracy Nguyen, in an exclusive statement to SOHH. "He has not played any music yet for press, but is looking forward to doing so very, very soon." As for rumors regarding a Nas and Jay-Z collabo album, fans eager to hear the once-dueling rappers team up Hov-R. Kelly style may have to wait... "We've heard the rumors as well, and can confirm that Nas is only focused right now on his forthcoming solo release," Nguyen said. As previously reported, when SOHH asked Def Jam CEO L.A. Reid earlier this month if the disc will be released with the N-word title, Reid replied saying, "We'll have to see." To the contrary Nguyen has confirmed to SOHH that the upcoming album is still in fact titled n*gger and it is currently slated for an April 22 release.
